Payment Methods with Helix Pay
Point of sale and remote payment solutions for companies of all sizes.
Remote Payments
Helix Pay makes it simple to receive payments remotely or in person even without hardware. Any remote sale instantly appears on the portal. You will also receive an email notification whenever a payment request is paid, provided you've configured your account accordingly.
Taking remote payments is straightforward. Creating a payment rquest takes just a few moments and you can configure it to suit your needs. You can share a payment request via SMS or email from the portal, manually share the link, or embed a pay button on your website. Your custom branding is presented to the customer if enabled, along with a range of payment options.

In Person Payments
You can also accept payments in person using payment links, although for most scenarios, using a physical terminal is quicker.
Helix hardware is available for purchase from our shop. Depending on the chosen hardware, the terminal may operate independently or require the Helix Pay app installed on a compatible phone or tablet. Android devices are currently supported, with IOS support coming soon. You can download the Android app from the Google Play store.
Taking payments in person involves a few simple steps:
- Sign in to the Helix Pay app.
- Follow the in-app prompts to connect the terminal.
- Press the "PAY" button and enter the amount to be charged.
- Choose the payment method (Cash, Card, PaymentLink).
- Hand over the terminal to your customer and instruct them to follow the prompts.
- The Helix Pay app will track the terminal and keep you updated on the sale's progress.
- If you or your customer cancel the sale, restarting it is easy.
- Once the transaction is completed, the result screen will display. You can print or send a receipt as needed.
Accepted Payment Methods
Helix Pay supports major card networks such as American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and JCB Union Pay. In addition to card payments, your customers can pay you through bank payments using Helix Pay payment links. You can also accept and track cash payments using the Helix Pay app.
Transaction Limits
The current limit per transaction is £10,000, though this may change without notice. The current contactless limit is £100 per transaction. Be aware that the cardholder’s bank might impose limits on the number of consecutive contactless transactions before requiring a Chip & Pin transaction. In such cases, please ask your customer to insert their card.
Declined Transactions
While most sales are accepted on the first attempt, some might result in a Declined or Failed outcome. If the card issuer provides a reason for the decline, it will be displayed to you. We recommend retrying the payment or suggesting an alternative payment methods to your customer.
